Honorable Mention Pisces and Moonlight Pat Williams Your eyes flit and flicker through the twilight mock the moonlight fireflies and gossamer; Although you do not intend such frivolities in the night. Torn between the war-rushing blood flight of the birds you stalk, and the steely-eyed, cold fished dwellers in the shallow mountain streams, tightly fitted in their sequined reams of gold, streamlined to sail to ancient cellars. In Neptune’s depths; torn between the air, and sea, you hover expectantly, darting in and out of Matisse-like greenery, afraid to land, afraid to care, too much for blood rushed things. As Neptune calls and draws you near where you can hear the lilting songs that sirens sing. Your beauty blends in with green, moves wave-like in milky-way light dips in into the ocean, scoops up moonlight to spread it over me as I sing and sleep in my woodland bower, waiting for you to slip into my room and kiss me quite insane and free from gloom, at last, tonight, together make the trip from warm blood rushing to the cool tiled ocean floor, from passion deep, to reason more, from love, to death’s final storm.
